About

Woodland FC's youth academy is designed to teach boys and girls how to play the beautiful game in a beautiful way. We want to create competitors who learn well, play well, and win well. We want to develop players and people both on and off the field. Sports are a tool of education, and we seek to develop all the positive features of your children with this tool.

Mission

Teach kids how to play the game with critical thinking, creative problem solving, teamwork, skill, and with a clear goal in mind--being competitive both on and off the field.

Vision

This mission can only be accomplished by applying the right principles through the right coaching. It starts at the top. From our owner to the last man on the bench, we need to constantly be seeking excellence on and off the field, and doing the little things rightly each and every day. We want to help boys and girls throughout Kansas City love this game, and love excellence.

What's involved in all this?

Great question. Being part of Woodland FC's youth academy is a fairly low commitment. We practice two days a week with each team, and have matches/scrimmages on Saturdays. We compete in the Kansas Premier Soccer League (KPSL) and practice September-November (Season 1 outdoor), March-May (Season 2 outdoor), and December-February (Season 1 Indoor). We design our programs so that kids can enjoy summers with their families. Outdoor practices are held at Charles J. Stump Memorial Park, in Shawnee KS, from 5:30-6:30

Programs

Boys ages 5-16

We work with the young men to use their great stores of energy and need to bump into each other as useful tools to compete on the field, and in life. We work with little ones to hone those tools to compete and win on and off the field. We welcome any and all skill levels!

Girls ages 5-16

We work with the young ladies to use their industry and diligence to form a cohesive unit that works together, and celebrates each other's accomplishments joyfully. We work with little ones to hone those tools to compete and win on and off the field. We welcome any and all skill levels!
